How capture flows into Self
Voice notes, Save-to-Mind, meetings, and dictionary learnings enrich your Life notebook and persona — all opt-in.
Before you start
- Signed in with cloud Self sync on for cloud Companion and Life ingest.
- Life notebook enabled in Settings → Capture loop (or Self tab toggles).
Steps

Quick voice note (Mac hotkey) saves to Notes Inbox, syncs, then ingests into Life when Life + note sync are on.

Save-to-Mind captures queue offline on Mac, iOS, and Android; after upload, memory index extracts Persona Graph entities.

Personal dictionary learnings append to persona hints for Compose, Companion, and Mind chat context.

Meeting summaries (when ready) create meet-kind Self episodes — deduped by meeting id.

Capture Router preview shows «This belongs in Self Life» when a rule targets your Life notebook.

Self tab shows an orange banner when Ask Self or Mind capture items are queued — tap Retry when online.

Account Center → Capture loop groups Life notebook toggles and Capture Router rules with cross-links.
Common mistakes
- Repeat voice capture for the same note upserts one note_ref — no duplicate Life sources.
- Hub shows an offline banner on /self; native apps drain FIFO outboxes when the network returns.
- Disable note or history sync individually without turning off the whole Life notebook.
- Team plans: personal capture data stays private per member — not visible to team admins.
