Privacy Policy

Overview
FlyType is a voice dictation product. This policy describes what data we process when you use our apps and cloud API.
Audio
- Cloud mode: audio is sent to our API for transcription and polish, processed in memory, and not stored on servers by default (zero-data-retention default).
- Offline / local mode: audio stays on your device; transcription uses on-device engines (WhisperKit, Apple Speech, Android SpeechRecognizer).
Account data
Email, password hash, billing plan, dictionary, snippets, and optional cloud history (Mac opt-in) are stored in our database when you use Hub sync.
Third parties
Cloud transcription may use a self-hosted STT sidecar and/or Groq. Chat AI for Mind/Meetings/Self may use YandexGPT (Yandex Cloud) for RU accounts when regional routing is enabled, or DeepSeek for international accounts. Stripe processes payments. See their privacy policies for subprocessors.
Your choices
- Use local engine mode to avoid sending audio to the cloud.
- Disable cloud history sync in the Mac menu (off by default).
- Delete dictionary/snippets entries in Hub at any time.
