Life notebook — your personal memory corpus

Opt-in Mind notebook (`flytype:self:life`) that ingests notes, dictation history, voice captures, and weekly recaps for Companion and Memory Search.

Before you start

  • Hub account with cloud Self sync enabled.
  • Life notebook toggled on in Settings → FlyType Self → Life (or Self tab on native apps).

Steps

  1. 1

Enable Life notebook — FlyType creates or recovers a private Mind notebook marked `flytype:self:life`.

  2. 2

Turn on sync notes and/or sync history individually; meetings and voice capture have separate opt-in toggles.

  3. 3

Tap Sync now (Hub Self tab or native Life panel) — POST /v1/self/life/sync upserts note_ref and history_ref sources.

  4. 4

Hub Self → Life shows source breakdown, recent sources, weekly recap drawer, and PDF attach for durable pages.

  5. 5

Edits to synced notes re-ingest on the next sync; deletes remove matching Life sources.

  6. 6

Disable Life anytime — ingest stops but the Mind notebook is retained until you delete Self data in Privacy.

Common mistakes

  • Life ingest runs even when training opt-out is on — it is your private corpus, not model training.
  • Batch limit: 500 note upserts per sync; run Sync again if you imported a large library.
  • History retention days (Settings) purge old dictation refs before ingest on each sync.
  • Team admins cannot read your Life notebook — personal Self boundary applies.
