iOS
Siri & Shortcuts gallery
Dictate, capture notes, and create FlyType reminders with Siri and the Shortcuts app.
Before you start
- iPhone or iPad with FlyType signed in.
- iOS 17+ (App Intents).
Steps
- 1
Open the Shortcuts app → All Shortcuts → search «FlyType».
- 2
Dictate: add «FlyType dictation» (or say «Dictate with FlyType»). Result goes to the clipboard.
- 3
Voice note: add «FlyType voice note» — records into Notes Inbox.
- 4
Reminder: add «Create FlyType reminder» or say «Remind me with FlyType …». Natural language dates work (tomorrow at 3).
- 5
Optional: add «Complete next FlyType reminder» and «Snooze next FlyType reminder» from the Shortcuts gallery (discoverable intents).
- 6
Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro+): Settings → Action Button → Shortcut → pick Dictate or Voice note.
- 7
More setup tips: FlyType → Settings → Quick Capture.
Common mistakes
- iOS allows about 10 App Shortcut phrases per app — Dictate, notes, Mind, Self, and Remind me are pre-wired; other intents stay searchable in Shortcuts.
- Reminders respect Settings → Reminders destination (system Reminders, FlyType-only, or both).
- Sign in first — intents that need the cloud show a short toast if you are signed out.
