Voice note capture
Record a note by voice — with a transcript preview before save — via hotkey, widget, share sheet, or in-app Record.
Before you start
- Microphone permission, signed in.
Steps
- 1
Desktop / mobile Notes: start a voice note → a transcript preview appears → edit if needed → Confirm to Inbox (or Cancel / Retry).

Mobile: Notes tab → Record note — speak — preview → Confirm to Inbox folder.

iOS/Android widget: tap Voice note — opens the same preview capture flow.

Share extension: Share to FlyType → Notes queue.

Offline: entry lands in outbox until upload; Hub Notes shows sync status (queued / error / ok).

AI Structure available after sync on the new note.
Common mistakes
- Preview a11y id: notes-voice-transcript-preview on Mac, Windows, iOS, Android.
- Long speech may hint «Looks like a meeting» — full Notes↔Meetings bridge is separate Help: /help/notes/vs-meetings.
- Mac: main window Notes or Scratchpad mic uses the same preview pipeline.
