Studio notes and convert to source

Write a note in Mind Studio, then convert it into a notebook source so Chat and Studio can use it as grounded knowledge.

Before you start

  • Signed in with Mind enabled (trial or Pro).
  • A notebook you can edit (owner or Editor ACL).
  • Hub or desktop/mobile Mind with the Studio column visible.

Steps

  1. 1

Open Mind → pick a notebook → Studio column on the right (Studio tab on phone).

  2. 2

Click Add note (or the Note tile) — an empty Studio note opens with title and body.

  3. 3

Write freely: use the toolbar for headings, bold/italic, links, and code. Changes autosave while you type.

  4. 4

When the note is ready to become knowledge, click Convert to source — FlyType ingests the note text into the same notebook.

  5. 5

Confirm the new source appears in the Sources column (left). Status becomes Ready after ingest.

  6. 6

Ask Chat a question that should cite the new source, or generate Studio artifacts that include it.

Common mistakes

  • Notes are private draft artifacts until you convert — Chat does not ground on note body until convert succeeds.
  • Convert-all notes (bulk) is available when several notes are ready; editors and owners only.
  • Offline: open existing notes read-only; create/edit/convert need network.
  • Server flag MIND_STUDIO_NOTES defaults on — if notes are missing, ask an admin to check the API env.
