Thinking Board
Optional soft spatial board inside a Mind notebook — place highlight cards, sections, sticky notes, and connectors without replacing Sources | Chat | Studio. Full canvas on Hub; Mac/Windows/iOS/Android soft canvas + Hub deep link (Windows soft canvas: Mind Thinking 1.4).
Before you start
- Signed-in account with a Mind notebook and some highlights.
- API flag MIND_THINKING_BOARD=1 (code default OFF — soft-first until ops enable).
- Pref thinking_board_default stays hidden so the board is never forced as home.
Steps
- 1
Hub Studio → Thinking Board tile (or open /mind?id={notebook}&board=1).
- 2
Place a highlight, drag cards, add sections, connect with arrows, search the board, export Markdown or PNG.
- 3
Mac Studio: soft list + canvas; Open in Hub for the full board.
- 4
Windows Studio: soft canvas (pan + cards @ layout) + list + Place highlight + Open in Hub (Mind Thinking 1.4). Full infinite canvas stays in Hub.
- 5
iOS / Android Studio: soft canvas (pan + cards @ layout) + Open in Hub for the full infinite canvas (Mind Thinking 1.3). Not a Hub pixel clone.
- 6
Keyboard: Esc closes the Hub board dialog; cards keep contrast tokens from Mind theme.
Common mistakes
- Deleting a placement never deletes the highlight or source — board refs only.
- Soft warn ~200 objects; Hub culls offscreen cards so large boards stay smooth.
- Sub-boards nest at most depth 2.
- Enable with MIND_THINKING_BOARD=1 on the API, then restart.
