Cinematic brief and video overview
Turn notebook sources into a motion-ready cinematic brief (hook → acts → takeaway) or a chaptered video overview with seekable slides, narration, and downloadable MP4.
Before you start
- Pro or Team plan (video overview generate is Pro-gated).
- Notebook with at least one Ready source.
- Hub or native Mind — Studio column visible.
Steps

Open Mind → notebook → Studio tile grid on the right.

Cinematic brief: tap the Cinematic tile (or pick template «Cinematic brief») → Generate.

Preview shows hook headline, act beats, and takeaway bullets with motion CSS — Export HTML opens standalone motion HTML.

Video overview: tap Video → Video Brief (short executive summary) or Video Explainer (teaching walkthrough) — or pick an advanced director preset.

Play narration, scrub chapters, and check the soft quality score before sharing.

Download PPTX, PDF, or MP4 from the slide player (Hub, Mac, Windows, iOS, Android). Use Regen audio on the current slide when one chapter sounds wrong; check Music bed for a soft ambient MP4 mix.

Share cinematic brief publicly — viewer page renders the brief and uses hook text for link previews (Open Graph).

Regenerate after adding sources so acts and chapters reflect new material.
Common mistakes
- MP4 is slides + optional TTS audio — not a filmed talking-head video.
- Cinematic brief tile (More ⋯) exports motion HTML — not NotebookLM Ultra Veo-class generated video.
- Veo-class cinematic video generation is post-GA / Pro roadmap only (see Help scope note).
- Regen audio re-TTS one slide and splices it into the existing narration track (Pro).
- MP4 + music mixes a soft lavfi bed under narration (~12% volume); default download stays plain MP4.
- Trial accounts get a Pro upsell (402) on video overview generate.
- Timeline with Export WebM enqueues async — watch the Studio job dock for progress.
- Cinematic HTML uses --cb-duration and stagger vars — safe to host offline after export.
