Dictate from your phone (bubble & keyboard)
Dictate into messenger fields from Android Flow Bubble or iPhone FlyType keyboard — clipboard insurance, soft chrome, honest OS limits.
Before you start
- FlyType installed on iPhone or Android and signed in.
- Microphone permission granted.
Steps

Android: open Dictation tab → enable Floating overlay after granting Display over other apps + Accessibility. The Flow Bubble appears over focused text fields; tap or press-and-hold to dictate. Text is copied to the clipboard first; Accessibility tries insert (SET_TEXT then PASTE). If insert fails, use the notification / paste.

iPhone: enable FlyType keyboard in Settings → General → Keyboard, turn on Full Access, then tap the globe key in any app to switch to FlyType. Top bar: Style (Auto/Chat/Email/Code), Undo last insert, Cancel while recording, Dict (opens Dictionary in the app — stub from keyboard).

iPhone first run: onboarding and the keyboard coach remind you about the globe switch (and optional Action Button / Control Center). Dismiss the coach when ready.

In-app Mind / Self / Notes mic still uses the insert toast — see /help/dictation/in-app-insert. External apps use the bubble (Android) or keyboard (iOS).
Common mistakes
- Gate: ./scripts/e2e-mobile-voice-shell.sh · PHASE VO-A · GAP VO-G1…G7.
- Not Wispr-complete GREEN: OEM/WebView insert may fall back to clipboard; iOS has no overlay bubble.
- Dictionary words: Hub / Settings Dictionary — keyboard Dict is an honest stub.
