Upload your own notebook cover photo
Editors on Hub and native apps can set a custom cover — no AI quota; auto-cover jobs skip until you choose Regenerate.
Before you start
- Editor or owner access to the notebook.
Steps
- 1
Hub: open Mind → notebook → Settings (gear) → Cover section → Upload photo.
- 2
Mac / Windows: open the notebook → cover menu (⋯ in workspace header) → Upload photo → pick an image file.
- 3
iOS / Android: open the notebook → long-press the cover thumb or open the cover menu → Upload photo.
- 4
Choose JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF (max 4 MB). FlyType center-crops to 4:3 and stores a PNG card — the library updates immediately.
- 5
Uploaded covers use provider upload — background semantic AI will not replace them until you tap Regenerate cover.
- 6
Use Reset to emoji to remove the photo and return to the gradient stub tile.
Common mistakes
- Upload is unlimited on all plans; only AI Regenerate counts against monthly cover quota.
- Prefer landscape photos — portrait images are center-cropped to the card aspect ratio.
- EXIF metadata (GPS, camera) is not stripped yet — avoid uploading sensitive location-tagged photos until a future update.
