Privacy mode

Control what leaves your device — cloud polish, history, and Mind upload.

Before you start

  • Settings → Privacy visible.

Steps

  1. 1

    Standard: cloud STT + polish; history sync optional.

  2. 2

    Private: minimizes cloud retention — local STT preferred; some AI features limited.

  3. 3

    Toggle in Settings → Privacy on each client — syncs via Hub preferences.

  4. 4

    Mind E2E encryption (Pro): encrypt notebook sources at rest — separate toggle.

  5. 5

    Clipboard: exclude password managers and set retention days.

Common mistakes

  • Team admins may enforce Standard minimum on seat holders.
  • Private mode still needs microphone permission for local dictation.
