App updates and min supported version
Choose Manual, Remind, or Insist for update prompts — and what happens when a version is below the fleet minimum.
Before you start
- Desktop or mobile FlyType with network access.
Steps

Open Settings → Updates (Hub, Mac, Windows, or mobile notification settings).

Manual: only check when you ask. Remind: soft prompt with Later. Insist: re-check about every 12 hours.

If your build is below the server min_supported version, FlyType shows a hard-block with a download link — this cannot be disabled.

Download from the prompt or Hub → Download. Your data stays on device/cloud; we do not wipe accounts.

Common mistakes
- Platform admins set latest/min_supported in Admin → Client releases.
- Play In-App Updates for Android are optional (soft flag PLAY_IAU_FLEXIBLE, default OFF).
- iOS never sideloads in-app — TestFlight or the App Store only.
